Part of the improvement is our single point of contact for all lift tickets sales. With Livewire kiosks our stores don’t have the liability and loss associated with pre-printed tickets, since REI does not handle the money or the printed tickets.”
Most ski resorts offer discounts on lift tickets that are purchased off-premises as an incentive to local skiers to come and ski. Because Livewire’s kiosks dispense fully valid tickets instead of “vouchers”, skiers can save money and also bypass the sometimes hour-long lines to purchase tickets at the ski resort’s front gate.
Following its successful pilot season last winter, Livewire has added three new resorts to its already-stellar inventory of resorts. This season, skiers can buy tickets to Keystone, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Ski Cooper, Monarch, Sol Vista, Loveland and Winter Park.
According to Roy Smith, Livewire’s President, “We are delighted to see all our hard work over the summer paying off in this way. With the early snow in Colorado and our added retailers and outlets, we are on track to do ten times the sales of last season’s pilot program.”
Founded in 1998, Livewire specializes in deploying web-enabled self-service kiosks in retail stores nationwide. Livewire is known for its expertise in developing kiosks for the retail environment, having deployed over 120 retail kiosks within the ski industry in the past 3 years.
